Asi Cymbal proposes development near Dania Pointe
South Florida Business Journal   Brian Bandell  September 18, 2019

A strip of marine and industrial properties in Dania Beach could be rezoned for multifamily development, and one local developer already has a site plan on file.

On the evening of Sept. 18, the city’s Planning and Zoning Board will consider rezoning 11.06 acres at 90 North Bryan Road plus 50, 70 and 150 South Bryan Road from “industrial research office marina” and “general business” to “planned small lot mixed-use development.” The latter category would allow multifamily and commercial.

The property at 150 South Bryan Road has a small industrial building and open storage. The other three properties have marinas and boat storage. They are near the new Dania Pointe, which has shops, plus a multifamily project, a hotel and offices on the way.

Cymbal Development, led by Asi Cymbal, filed a site plan for the 2.42-acre site at 150 South Bryan Road. Attorney Stephanie Toothaker, who represents Cymbal, said it calls for 302 units in eight stories.

“We are working with the other property owners along Bryan Road to bring residential product to the area that’s compatible with the neighboring homeowners and Dania Pointe,” Toothaker said. “Dania is a very exciting place. There’s a lot happening there.”

Dennis D. Mele represents the other property owners, Dania Beach Marina Corp., NV Marina Holdings and RJ Marina Holdings. They have not filed site plans for redevelopment.

The application would require City Commission approval at a later date.
